What are you daring to wear?

Do you ever find that the clothes in your wardrobe no longer express who you are? Perhaps they did when you purchased them or maybe they never really did.

Do you find yourself wearing clothes that you are “expected” to wear, that you “should” wear or “have to” wear? Or perhaps something is holding you back from wearing what you really want to wear, and how you want to express yourself?

Sometimes we want to wear something that makes us feel sexy, feminine, powerful, serious, fun and playful. Is it a colour, a neckline,  coloured eyeliner, a lipstick in a rich and sultry colour? It doesn’t matter what it is, what is important is to recognise what it is that is challenging you; why are you holding yourself back? Although we think these maybe limitations other people place on us, the truth is they are limitations we have accepted to place upon ourselves.

I think these are challenges we women find throughout our lives.

As young adolescents many of us want to wear grown up clothes, high heels and make up and as we reach middle age it becomes more about ease, comfort. It becomes about what is “appropriate”.

To me, “appropriate” is such a limiting word; and it’s time to break down all the limitations we have consciously or unconsciously accepted. Throughout these posts, I want to share with you my personal experiences as well as others on the journey to expressing themselves, building confidence and daring to wear whatever it is that is challenging them, in the hope that it will inspire you to step out of your “comfort zone” and dare to wear!
